Recently there has been a wave of fraudulent mortgage transaction within the downstate are of New York, most notable in the Brooklyn and Queens counties of New York City. We perform detailed title examination and review to provide and extra level of support for our Lender clientele, to assure that any impropriety that can be discovered, will be discovered. To this end our office has been responsible for uncovering several fraudulent mortgage transactions, which were reported to the authorities prior to closing, and in one case arrests were made a staged closing in our office. Our litigation department has also represented borrowers who have had their homes stolen in “Straw Borrower” schemes, to work regain their property through the Legal System.
